PET engineering plastic is a kind of crystalline high polymer with highmelting temperature and glass temperature. Within a wide range of temperature, PETpossesses good physical mechanical property and its temperature can reach 120 degree over along period of use. However, the existence of phene in macromolecular backbone, whichresults in poor segmental activity, slow crystallization rate, difficult mold processing, highmolding temperature, long production period and is easy to deflect or adhere to mold wheninjection molding, impedes PET production and use on a large scale. In contrast, TLCP is akind of new polymer material of good processability with high strength and high mold. Itfully utilizes the special properties of liquid crystalline polymer such as chain rigidity, highlength-to-diameter ratio, high strength, high heat resistance, etc. and forms in-situ micro-fiberand scatters in the matrix and improves the rheological property and processability ofengineering plastic. At the same time, it also can improve the mechanical property ofengineering plastic such as tensile strength, tensile modulus, bending strength and bendingmodulus, etc.The main purpose of this paper is to make in-situ TLCP as reinforcing agent withengineering plastic PET through studying in-situ composite technology and through studyingthe effect of parameters of in-situ composite material preparation technology on property suchas the content of TLCP, viscosity ratio of matrix material when processing, processing way offlow and shear rate and processing mold temperature to prepare in-situ composite materialwith superior property and modify PET into special engineering plastic. The result shows thatthe greater the content of PET/TLCP in-situ composite material becomes, The micro-fiberstructure formed by TLCP separation has obvious effect on PET and shows good materialproperty.
