Polymer blending is a simple and effective method to obtain compounds. In this article, nylon 6(PA6) as the substrate adding thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) produced PA6/TPU blends. The blend mixed the high strength and excellent elasticity of TPU in a perfect way, which is with outstanding thermal performance and expecially the mechanical properties. The compatibility between the polymers is the key to determine the performance of composites. In order to obtain the composite owning optimum comprehensive properties, analogy method was used to contrast and analyze firstly the compatibilization effect of those compatibilizers such as PR-232, PT-125, EVA-g-MAH. Experiment compared the effect of morphology, mechanical properties and thermal properties on the compounds. Test results showed that EVA-g-MAH has better compatibilizing effect. In order to further reduce production costs, maleic anhydride grafted ethylene/butyl acrylate copolymer (EBA-g-MAH) by means of solution grafting, which is with less side effect and simple operation, The effects of various parameters, such as dosages of initiator and monomer and process condition on grafting degree were discussed systematically.PA6/TPU/EBA-g-MAH composites were prepared by taking EBA-g-MAH as compatibilizer in PA6/TPU composites. The composite has superior mechanical properties, thermal performances and particularly the lower cost.
