Nonwoven is a new field of the textile industry. Nonwoven fabrics are used in a very wide variety of applications and their growth continues at a steady rate, however common nonwoven fabrics have no elasticity and the applications can be limited when elasticity is desirable. How to improve the elasticity of nonwoven fabrics to broaden the application area is very significant. The object of this paper that is divided into three sections is to study the effects of the structure of image transfer device, water jet process and coating on the elastic characteristic and other properties. In the first section, the properties of the spunlaced nonwovens formed with two kinds of different image transfer device are tested and analyzed. The study shows that the kind of image transfer device affects elasticity of spunlaced nonwoven fabrics. What's more, the elasticity of the fabric using high-density image transfer device is worse, and the elasticity of the fabric using low-density image transfer device is better. In the second section, a crossed experiment is designed to study the effects of the layers of cross laying, basis weight and water pressure on the properties of elasticity, breathability andtensile strength. The statistical results show that the layers of cross-laying have a huge impact on tensile strength and elasticity, and affect the breathabiKty;while fo&sis weight has a huge impact on tensile strength and breathability, and affects elasticity. Water pressure is the most unimportant factor to elasticity, breathability and tensile strength. The parameters of the nonwoven performance optimization are carded web, the basis weight 60g/m2, and water pressure 20bar+40bar.In the third section, elasticities of the two kinds of coated fabrics with different substrate are measured, the results show that after coating the elasticities of the two fabrics become better, the elasticity and elongation of the coated fabric using aperture spunlaced nonwovens as substrate is better than another one when load is constant. And the tensile properties of coated fabric and uncoated fabric are tested, after coating, tensile strength of fabric is raised, but breaking elongation is reduced. Finally, the optimization coating project is found using a crossed experiment.Through these researches, the problems both in theory and practice of producing elastic spunlaced nonwovens are solved. These researches have an important significance for the development of elastic nonwoven products and boost the combination of production, academy and study.
