Study Of Construct Chao Lake Water Quality Management Information System Based On MapInfo

With the rapid economic development of Anhui province, environmental problems, especially the problems of water quality, have became a key factor which restricts economic increase and improvement of people's lives. As the fifth largest fresh lakes, Chao lake is a source of drinking water for HeFei city it's also an important fishery area. Severe pollution of the rivers which inflood Chao lake results in eutrophication of Chao lake, which affects people's work and lives severely. The protection and management of Chao lake water quality have no time to delay. As an intersectional subject, GIS has many important practical and theoretic significance on water quality management for Chao lake.This thesis takes the monitored genes data of Chao lake from 1998 to 2003 as the system database. Taking Maplnfo Professional as information system, MapBasic 6.0 and Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 as programme tools, Microsoft Office Access 2003 as database tool, the author constructs the Chao Lake Water Quality Management Information System(CWQMIS). Visual Basic is used to customize interface and input data. Maplnfo is used to construct map frame of Chao lake monitored points, transfer e-map, display and analyze monitored data. And Maplnfo functions are driven by MapBasic. CWQMIS has many functions: visual interface of subjects, the management of database of monitored points for Chao lake, database upgrade, the queries and searches of data of monitored points for Chao lake, chart analysis, multimedia display and output, etc. This thesis gets the targets as followings: CWQMIS can be used by the environmental protection department directly, and offer gist in Chao lake water quality management for the department. It enriches and develops the theory about GIS applied in water quality management.
