Based on the current researching achievements of inorganic antibacterial agents, Ag-Series antibacterial materials of Ag-SiO2 and Ag/TiO2SiO2 carried by nano SiO2, in this paper, were prepared through inpregnation and chemical reduction method. Also we introduce their properties and applications in emulsion paint and paints. The Ag-SiO2 and Ag/TiO2-SiO2 were obtained by chemical reduction method. At meantime, the metallic particles reductive was measured by atomic absorption. In the process of doped-Ag, the role played by the size of SiO2, dispering agent, restore agent, pH value, metallic content of sticking, heat-treated conditions and prepared method are investigated by antibacterium-circle test. The sterile rate of powder is measured by shake-flask test. Microstructure of SiO2 composite antibacterial materials are characterized by XRD DTA SEM IR.The test results are indicated the antibacterial properties of antibacterial materials prepared through inpregnation method is not good. The antibacterial materials prepared by chemical reduction method have favorable properties for escherichia coli and staphylococcus, and its disinfect rate is closed to 100%.We have acquired some results to antibacterial emulsion paint and antibacterial paints. Their physical properties, such as their quantity and color, have been affected. Along with the increase of its quantity, smooth degree and color of emulsion paint and paints have been changed. Anti-bacterial experiment results indicate the disinfect rate for escherichia coli and staphylococcus is closed to 99%, when the quantity ofAgSiO2 and Ag/TiO2-SiO2 attain differently 1% and 1.5% of the quantity of emulsion paint. When the quantity of AgSiO2 and Ag/TiO2-SiO2 attain differently 2% and 3% of the quantity of paints, disinfect rate for escherichia coli and staphylococcus have exceeded 85%.
