The most important different between normal CNC system and open CNC system is the open property both in design and development. This property is displayed in the system structure and model design.First divide the system into different layers. Different layer communicate with each other in standardized language. This makes the inner structure of the layer is hidden from others. The developer of the different layer is concentrate in their self's problem. This benefit the project manager in system analysis and teem organize. Through the reunion the resource, there are much more software and hardware resource can be used in the CNC system. Those options improve the reliability and compatibility of the CNC system. All of those advanced method turns the complex system into realize.Second the entire software and hardware platform is based on normal standard platform. The software platform is in Linux. Development is under the Qt cross-platform lib. Hardware system is based on normal PC platform. Those entire ways make the open CNC can run in a normal and standard platform.This thesis is discussing the method of construction the server layer for an open CNC system. The server layer is based on Linux system. Whole layer is divided into five different parts. All five parts are providing the server for CNC system. The function of those five part is active as a driver for hardware system and as a virtual machine for software system.Server layer is the most fundamental and important part in CNC system. It is a layer can be re-used in a lot different circumstance. This part has fundamental meaning for the development and study in open CNC system.
