Along with the further development of the National Science and Technology Major Project, the design level of China's CNC machine tools manufacturing has developed by leaps and bounds. However, there is still a certain gap compared with foreign advanced level, and high-grade machine tools is needed to import large. One reason for this situation is lack of digital design tools and instruments which is for integrated dynamic characteristics of CNC machine tools, and that is why it is difficult to improve the design efficiency and quality. Therefore, it is conducive to promoting the development of China's machine tool industry that researching and developing the digital design tools of CNC machine tools. As an important component of the CNC machine tools, feed system is urgent needed to promote the digital design level, which has the characteristics of complex structure and various components.Aiming at the urgent requirements of digital design of CNC machine tools, Selection system of CNC machine tool's feeding system is researched and developed. Feed system of CNC machine tools has the characteristics of complex structure and various components, and its design process involves wide knowledge of design and complicated calculation. The method and process of configure calculation is used to develop the selection system of CNC machine tools' feed system, which is summarized on the basis of CNC machine tool enterprises' design experience. The selection system of CNC machine tools' feed system includes three modules which are task management, selection and calculation, and database management. The first one is used for configuration, tracking and managing the selection task; the second is used to select and calculate parts of the feed system; and the third takes charge of the database management like information query, entry and so on.Selection system of CNC machine tool's feeding system has realized some functions, and other features are still in continuous improvement. It will be able to improve the design efficiency and quality of CNC machine tools after putting into application in the future.
