The sonochemistry, a new interdiscipline, appeared in 1980's, and it has developed by leaps and bounds in the next twenty years. It is because that the ultrasonic waves have many advantages which can not only perfect the condition of reaction, quicken its speed and raise its rate, but also make many reactions, and fulfill some chemical reactions which are difficult to react, and has low energy consumption , less pollution or no pollution, simple equipments, etc. So it has already been widely used in many fields such as chemistry, medicine, food industry, welding industry, wastewater treatment and so on.The sonochemistry reactor, whose main difference is introducing ultrasound waves to react on chemical reaction with the common chemical reactor, is used for the important places to achieve its reaction and to carry out the sonochemistry research, and its configuration includes roughly two parts: the space for reaction solution and a transducer, and also can be divided into such as jet generator sonochemistry reactor, cleaning tank sonochemistry reactor, transformer immerged sonochemistry reactor, cup type sonochemistry reactor, etc. according to the different need of reaction liquid system and basic structure principle. Because sonochemistry is a kind of special interaction between ultrasonic energy and substances, there is some confusion about its reaction mechanism and driving force. At present, the relative unitive opinion is that the main mechanism and driving force of sonochemistry reaction is ultrasonic cavitation formed by research scholars, and that cavitation phenomenon is related with many factors such as liquid, air bubble, sound field and environment. As the physical and chemical property of the reaction solution is certain, the more uniformly the intensity and the distribution of the sound field is distributed in the reactor, the more favorably the sonochemical rate is increased. Therefore, the research on the character of the sound field and the cavitation field in the sonochemical reactor is vital for making certain the optimum condition of reaction, increasing sonochemical rate and promoting the sonochemistry transitted from lab scale to industry.
