With the development of wood-plastic industry, conical twin-screw extruders are expanding rapidly and applied widely. But at present, the using life of conical twin-screw for manufacturing composite is short. The open literature related to their studies is few in the world. It is significant to study on the wear mechanism about conical twin-screw.In this paper, flow simulation of conical twin-screw for manufacturing wood-plastic composite and using life of various conical twin-screw was studied.In order to study on the fatigue wear and using life of various screws, three flow models were built in ANSYS. Based on the calculated results, by programming, we get the pressure distribution, velocity distribution and average shear stress. According to results of flow simulation, fatigue wear and using life of conical twin-screws for manufacturing wood-plastic composite are studied. Wear-resistant technique and its application in conical twin-screw were also introduced in this paper.The model of screw for manufacturing composite is also analyzed .According to the analysis result, the screw in normal rotate do not occur resonate.Anyhow, here some elementary studies of wear mechanism about conical twin-screw were proposed. It made a good basis for further study in future.
