The dimethylbenzene was used as water carrying agent. The preparation technology of imidazoline inhibitor was synthesized with diethylenetriamine and coconut oleic acid and the optimized technology of the preparation of imidazoline was obtained. It is found that the temperature, reaction time and mol rate of reagents are the critical factors; IR and gravimetric measurements were used to study the structure of imidazoline derivative and its inhibiting efficiency could achieve beyond 80% in boiler solution; the inhibiting efficiency could achieve much higher after filmed by inhibitor solution of higher concentration. It was discovered that inhibition efficiency in both vapor and solution became better after adding thiocarbamide and morpholine. Potentiodynamic polarization studies showed that imidazoline derivative inhibited both anode and cathode corrosion reactions. It was a passivating anodic-type corrosion inhibitor. EIS showed that the reason of anti-corrosion of inhibitor relied on strong absorption on metal surface which prevented the contact between metal surface and water. It was discovered that...
