In the process of soil heavy metal pollution control by using plants, it is a critical factor of success to find ideal plants with high biomass and strong resistance. The properties of growth, photosynthesis and leaf-fabric qualities of Eulaliopsis binata exposed to different Cd(Cadmium) and Pb (Lead) levels in different stages was studied through pot experiments based on its high biomass and adaptation,. In addition, the characterstics of Cd and Pb enrichment in Eulaliopsis binata in different stages was also studied. The main results were as follows.1. The effects of the individual pollution of Cd and Pb on the properties of the development of Eulaliopsis binataThe study shows that Cd and Pb with lower concentration encouraged the growth of Eulaliopsis binataes, that Cd and Pb with higher concentration discouraged the growth of Eulaliopsis binataes, and that when Cd and Pb respectively exceeded the critical concentrations which promoted the growth of Eulaliopsis binataes, the higher the concentrations, the stronger the inhibitions. When the concentrations of Cd and Pb did not surpass 5mg/kg and 200mg/kg respectively in soil, the height, the tillers, the leaf areas, the dry weights of the roots and the shoots and the root activity of Eulaliopsis binataes rose. And, on the contrary, when their concentrations were higher than those mentioned above, these growth indexes fell. However, the tillers, the dry weights of the roots and the shoots at maturity were below those in the period immediately before maturity. The study also shows that Eulaliopsis binataes were more sensitive to Cd than to Pb.2. The effects of the individual pollution of Cd and Pb on the properties of the photosynthesis of Eulaliopsis binataThe study shows that the chlorophyll content, the SPAD value, the photosynthetic rate, the conductance to H2O and the transpiration rate of Eulaliopsis binataes exposed to Cd and Pb with lower concentration increased. And, on the other hand, these photosynthetic indexes would decrease if Eulaliopsis binataes were exposed to Cd and Pb with higher concentrations. Cd and...
