Optical homogeneity is an important index of optical glass, which is the embodiment of uniformity of internal refractive index in optical glass. The improvement of refractive index not only makes the improvement of optical glass performance, but also is propitious to the batch process of optical glass manufacturing.This paper aims at the low uniformity of refractive index in optical glass, and makes the preliminary research to improve the uniformity of optical glass refractive index, such as the different matching equipments, matching technics, melting manners, anneal technologies, etc, then analyzes and discusses as well as contrasts different programs, finally, concludes the best manufacturing approach and the suitable manufacturing conditions for getting good uniformity of optical glass refractive index. That is to say, in order to make the uniformity of refractive index of optical glass reach a better condition, it is necessary to plan as a whole in manufacturing, for example, manufacturing a certain optical glass in plan, manufacturing in the same product line, using the same batch, having specific matching line, using stable matching technics and precious melting method, keeping melting technology and annealing technology stable, equipping with specific measuring devices, and so on.
