Core-shell nanoparticles is a new kind of materials studied extensively in recent years because of their unique optical, electric, magnetic, catalytic and micromechanical properties, which are substantially different from those of mono-component particles. As attractive building blocks of advanced functional materials,it has important applications in such areas as photonic band gap materials, microwave absorbing materials, electrorheolo-gical (or magnetorhelogical) fluids, the synthesis of a composites semiconductor, controllable release or protection of bioactive substances, controllable catalysis, and nanoreactor or nanoseparator etc. CeO2@Au core-shell nanoparticles is an important catalyst and widely used in water-gas shift reaction and direct methanol fuel cells. In this dissertation, different morphological nanoparticles of CeO2 were prepared by urea decomposition method and hydrothermal method. The effect factors on CeO2 nanoparticles were analysed.CeO2@Au nanoparticles were preliminarily obtained by chemical reduction. The effect factors on CeO2@Au nanoparticles were discussed preliminarily. The prepared samples were deeply investingated by TG-DTA, TEM,XRD,UV-Vis,etc. Some significant new results were obtained and laid the foundation for further investigation of the properties and application of CeO2@Au structured core-shell nanoparticles...
