| Non-circular section part is wide used in aviation, astronavigation, auto and watercraft, the economical and high efficient machining method to those parts is NC machining. The key problem of NC machining is how to interpolate the aspheric curve, the interpolate result is the main factor to the precision, efficiency and so on.In this research, the cam as the typical non-circular section part is the research object, it discusses the application of Approximate Double Circular Arc Interpolated Method (ADCAIM) on the aspheric curve deeply, it also discusses the design of the cam and how to generate the NC code, so it is a CAD/CAM software. Last it discusses how to machining the cam by NC milling, it solves the important problem of how to generate the tool path for different diameter tool, it has been verified that it is a feasible method.The software is developed on the platform of AutoCAD with VBA technology. The main functions of the software are : input the design information by interactive interface; draw the profile of the cam in the AutoCAD in real-time; select the part of the profile to be machined and then interpolate; draw the drawing after interpolation; calculate the error of interpolation; generate the real tool path ;output the NC code.By using the software, first, it designs the profile of the cam and then uses the interpolate algorithm to interpolate the aspheric curve in the designed cam profile, and then calculates the error of interpolation, also it generates the tool path, at last it outputs the NC code. |
