This article finds out the influence factor of ZL114A alloy metal's properties during melting and heat treatment. At the same time optimizing this two kinds of technics we can improve the properties of a certain machine casting.The result of experiment indicates that melting and heat treatment technics have great influence to the properties of the ZL114A alloy metal.When the concent of Fe is too high, the phySical properties will fall. So if you want to improve the properties of ZL114 alloy metal, you must reduce the concent of Fe.At the same time ZL114A alloy metal has serious oxidation and the inSiratory phenomenon, in the process of melting it contracts atmosphere directly, therefore if controlling in the process is not very felicitous, the liquid metal eaSily forms the pinhole. Pinhole will make the denSity of the structer of ZL114A alloy lower, phySical properties will fall. So the purifying to the liquid alloy is very important. Because hydrogen is mostly factor to forming pinhole, oxid and other admixture in charge being the underlay to the process of forming pinhole accelerate the process, thus the purifying can avoid being pinhole by getting rid of hydrogen and admixture.Modification makes the eutectic Si completely thin, which result in the improving the phySical properties.When the alloy is solid, strength and ductile(toughness) is obviously better than that when the alloy is solid.The Size of crystal has great effect on the phySical properties. The less the crysral is, the higher the strength is.Making the Size of crystal thin can also improve the strength and ductile(toughness) of hypoeutectic Al-Si alloy.
