Study On Compost Of Municipal Solid Wastes In Yangling

Municipal solid wastes (MSW) composting is a safe, effective and economical resourceusing approach which is true of China. After MSW was composted, the physics character ofMSW has been changed. MSW composting not only can make out the target fulfillingreducing quantity, reclamation and harmlessness, but also can be used as fertilizer. MSWcomposting can change the structure of soil, and can add the organic compound content in soil,and can advance the fertility of soil. But there are some problems. The quality of ordinaryMSW composting is fault. The mechanization MSW composting is too complicated and coststoo much money to spread. Hence, the target of this studying is ameliorating the technique ofordinary MSW composting based on the character of the MSW in Yangling, and exploring amethod, which is suitable for Yangling.According to the season feature and composition of MSW in Yangling, the whole yearwas divided by the first quarter (Dec,2003～Feb,2004), the second quarter (Mar.-May,2004),the third quarter (June.- August,2004), and the fourth quarter (Sep.- Nov.,2004). In the courseof sampling for one year (Dec,2003-Nov,2004), the thirteen sampling points in Yangling citywhich stood for inhabitant district, commercial district, undertaking district, cleaning districtwere selected. This experimentation monitored the pH, organic compound content, TNcontent, TP content, TK content in MSW of Yangling, and studied compost of MSW inYangling. The result showing:(1) The composing character of MSW in Yangling. Average garbage in kitchen: 694.6g.kg^-1 .Average volume weight: 0.4136 g.cm^-3 , Average water content: 611.6 g.kg^-1 , Averageorganic compound content: 328.7 g.kg^-1 ,TC: 190.7 g.kg^-1, pH:6.78～7.85,TN:7.5 g.kg^-1,TP:1.6 g.kg^-1,TK:9.0 g.kg^-1.(2) The letting character of MSW in Yangling. The volume weight, and water content,organic compound content in MSW of Yangling is highest in the third quarter, and falling inturn in the fourth, second and first quarter.
