The geological and mining conditions in mine have the many kinds of combinations. The different geological condition, the development arrangement, the mining method and the mining order and so on, can form the varying degree in the mining process the adjacent formation stress distribution. At the same time it had also decided that the stress concentration possibly occurs in region and energy. The reasonable mining design should avoid and relieve the stress as far as possible the high degree of concentration and has because the stress to elevate the danger which causes. The domestic and foreign massive practices indicated that, many occurrence of rock burst is because the unreasonable mining engineering factor creates. Because of this reason, this danger changes with difficulty after it forms. Only can adopt in tactical the solution danger measure to carry on the government, not only increased the cost, its effect also is limited. Therefore, the high stress region and has the impact danger under coal mining is different from the generic condition the coal mining design, should take control the excavation space the adjacent formation stress concentration degree as the goal. This is the stress control method, also is the second kind solves the question method. This method has the obvious merit in surrounding strata control in stope, which is thorough in the complete degree, has the long-term characteristic in the time, and has the regional characteristic in the space.This paper content is the basic research about stress control principle and its application in surrounding strata in stope. The paper by method of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation and computation, analyze surrounding strata stress distribution under different mining conditions. It provides references for mine development arrangement, mining design and surrounding strata control. The contents include working face layout in identical coal seam, mining procedure counter stress distribution influence in the short distance coal seam. The yield pillars are designed, which releases pressure, based on pressure arch theory. The numeral simulation is applied in the design of yield pillars, which is through the distribution of strain, stress, and pillar compression. And it solves the problem of coal mining, which has tendency of burst, through adjusting mining order, replacement order and the liberation seam mining.
