In recent years, the studies on ecosystem service are taken into account. It has been recognized that the ecosystem service is the basis of human survival and development, and provides for mankind sustained, substantial various types of products and services that are visible or invisible. With the in-depth studies of mechanisms for sustainable development, it was found that the maintenance and protection of ecosystem services are the foundation for achieving sustainable development. People have been studying the meaning and valuating methods by different ways and pushing it to be an advances ecological issue.The paper accesses the ecosystem service of Anhui Province and analyzes the Land Use Structure (LUS), and then probe further into characteristics of ecosystem service of different regions in Anhui Province. The main contents are as follows:Base on the theories and methods of valuating the ecosystem service and natural capital, combined with the conditions of Anhui Province, the indices and parameters were proposed and the current values were calculated. The total value of Anhui Province's ecosystem services was 1425.036×108 yuan in 1996, accounting for 60.92 percent of GDP in the same period, which was lower than the national and global average level and was a loss zone of ecological value. Waters, woodlands, far mlands are the most major ecological service types in Anhui Province. The value of those three is 1176.175×108 yuan, 82.54 percent of Anhui Province's value. The average intensity of Anhui Province's ecosystem services is 10169.69 yuan per hectare. Huaibei plain and Jianghuai upland and flatland belong to zones of low ecological services intensity; the cities of Wuhu and Ma an Shan in the Yangtze-river plain area are medium ecological service intensity; Wanxi Mountain zone, Wannan Mountain and Hill zone and Tong ling city maintained high ecological service intensity.Regional difference in Anhui Province is evident.
