Schiff base and its metal complexes have been the current interest and impacted profoundly on extremely broad areas for these decades, including catalysis, biomedicine, analytical chemistry and functional materials etc. Some of them have received satisfying results. The determination of oxygen especially dissolved oxygen(DO) is significant in medical, industrial, biological and environmental applications all the times. The optical oxygen sensor consisting of luminescent sensitive materials and their supports has been paid more attention than other methods, based on its attractive advantages. Generally, candidates of sensing dyes in sensors based on this quenching technique, whose luminescence can be quenched by DO, are mostly [RuL3]2+ complexes and porphyrins of platinum and palladium. However, disadvantages of these dyes, such as being ionic or inefficient synthesis, limit their application in certain condition. Consequently, developping new kinds of dyes which are able to overcome the defects of the traditional and be more sensitive is both academically and commercially appealing. Serving as an original reference in this point, a new application of metal schiff base complex is...
