Flos Carthami is the dry flower of the Carthamus L. which belongs to the compositae family. In traditional Chinese medicine theories, the nature and flavor of Flos Carthami is acrid and warm. Flos Carthami has the effects of quicken the blood and free the network vessels, dissipating stasis and relieving pain. It is used for menstrual block, menstrual pain, retention of the lochia, knocks and falls and swelling and toxin of sores. And now it is widely used for various kinds of pain due to blood stasis such as thrombosis and so on and in recent works it is found that the effective composition of Flos Carthami is the Safflor Yellow A(SYA).The Bacillus licheniformis C2-13 used in this work, as producing the fibrinolytic enzyme which has a strong effect of dissolving fibrin directly, has a prospect of being a medicine for thrombosis. At the same time, this bacillus produces many other enzymes such as proteinase, glycosyl hydrolase, amylase, lipase etc. These enzymes have the effect on the cellulose, amylum and protein to lose the structure of the plant, and more effective composition will dissolve to improve the effect. And the hydrolase produced during the process will change the structure of the composition which might improve the effect. So we ferment Flos Carthami with C2-13 to filtrate new medicine for thrombosis.
