The milk of Alxa Bactrian camels reared in Inner Mongolia during different lactation stage were investigated. Colostrum and milk samples from 10 nomadic female camels in their first season of lactation were collected periodically from parturition to 90d postpartum (PP). The main results were as follows:The specific gravity, pH and aciditywere 1.045~1.034,6.28~6.53,and 0.17~0.24of colostrums (2h to 7d PP),respectively, and the respective mean values of regular milk were1.028~1.034, 6.31~6.57 and 0.17~0.20%.The average values of viscosity were 24.66 cP,and 6.79~7.54 cP,respectively,of colostrums at 2h PP and regular milk. The conductivity increased with the total content of Na+ ,K+ and Cl- increasing. The average contents of gross composition were 14.23% protein, 4.44% lactose,0.27% fat, 1.22% ash, and 20.16% total solids of colostrums at 2h PP, and the respective mean values were3.55, 4.24, 5.65, 0.87, and 14.31% for regular milk on 90d PP., A sharp decrease was shown during the first 12h of lactation of protein, ash, and total solids contents, whereas 15-fold increase was shown in fat content during the first 24 h Variation in lactose content was small (4.24 to 4.71%) throughout the study period. The contents of Ca, P, Na, K, and Cl(at 2h PP) were 222.58, 153.74, 65.0, 136.5, and 141.1 mg/100g, respectively. And the respective mean values of regular milk on 90d PP were154.57, 116.82, 72.0, 191.0, and 152.0 mg/100g, respectively. The levels of vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B6, and D were 0.97, 29.60, 1.45,0.12, 1.24, 0.54 mg/L, and 640 IU/L, respectively, of Alxa camel milk on 90d PP. The contents of essential amino acids Thr,Val,Met,Ile,Leu,Phe and Lys were 4.52,6.20,3.16,5.61,9.48,4.73 and 7.75g/100g,respectively,of Alxa camels milk proteins on 90d PP.The content of even-numbered saturated fatty acids (C12:0~C18:0) of camel colostrum (2h to 7d PP) was lower than that of regular milk (15 to 90d PP). The predominant saturated fatty acids were C14:0, C16:0 , and C18:0, regardless of the stage of lactation, whereas, polyunsaturated fatty acids mainly was C18:1 in Alxa camels milk fat. The acid values, saponification values, refractive exponent(40℃), melting points and iodine values...
