Mapping To XML Based On STEP-NC Data Model

STEP-NC data model plays an important part in network designing and manufacturing. It has been a trend that STEP-NC data model is integrated into CAD/CAM systems.Based on the studying of the STEP-NC data model ,a new method is put forward in this paper. Using Java, physical files are split , which are the representation of STEP-NC data model. Second, according to the regulation of XML and the structure of the STEP-NC data model, a new structure has been built and then XML documents are made up of the information units by means of JDOM API. Further more, the intention that mapping from STEP-NC data model to XML comes true .Finally, after parsing the XML documents by means of Java and JDOM API, many kinds of information such as working-step ,feature, operation and tools are picked up and display on the interface with the form of tree or table. So the operator can obtain clearly different parameters during the machining procedure.
