The ink jet recording system is a recording method capable of printing at a high speed in low noise, and recently has become rapidly widespread. The ink jet recording system comprises discharging a liquidink having high fluidity from a narrow nozzle to recording paper.With the development of the ink-jet print for the outdoor advertisement, and the image receiving substrate has expanded from the paper-based substrate to the synthetic based substrate, the oil-based ink pigment has been paid more attention because it proved brilliant color and more durable image. The composition of the binder influences the interaction among pigment, solvent and binder. For oil-based ink, the stabilization of pigment in the solvent is more difficult. It influences the preservation in the supply vessel, jetting process and image quality. The binder is the key of stability of the oil-based ink system. In an oil-based ink system the structure and property of binder influence extremely the dispersion stability and the grain distribution of colorant. To improve the pigment stability and image quantity, in this paper, acrylate copolymer with amide group was synthesized by free radical copolymerization reaction, and Hofmann degradation reaction was followed, The monomer were methyl acrylate , methyl methacrylate and acrylamide . By using the copolymer as binder in the ink-jet ink, it could achieve the aim of improving the dispersion stability of pigment in the ink.
