As a cutting means of machining hard gears with high precision, shaping technology has been wildly used at present. Compare with traditional methods for machining the hard gears, grinding, hobbing, shaving and honing, shaping is almost the optimum, in the case of special structures, such as the internal gear, dual gear, and gear with land corner. But the traditional conical hard shaper cutter can't machine hard gears with high precision because of the invincible antinomy between its shaping precision and its proper cutting edge's angles to exert cutting performance, tipping and cutting life is also a problem. In this paper a new configuration method of hard shaper cutter are discussed, to make sure the optimum parameter, which can make hard shaper cutter have not only high shaping precision but also proper cutting edge's angles.Base on the mathematic model of rake face of shaper cutter, with the aid of computer simulation model, study the influence of parameter on the rake face; analysis the clamp process, determine the perfect processing technic; the regularities distribution of cutting adge's angles, and the influencing of cutting life are analyzed, contrast experiment are made to test the performance of this new configuration of method of hard ship cutter; study the cut process and chips, learn the scraping mechanics.
