Recently,the demand for cylindrical gears is largely increasing with the rapid development of China's aerospace,automotive,high-speed rail,wind energy,agricultural and other industries.On the other hand,the traditional method of gear cutting is low-efficient and high cost for some sophisticated and special gears.Therefore,the study for new and efficient methods of machining cylindrical gears is particularly urgent.In recent years,the emergence of a new foreign gear machining method has successfully solved the problem for processing non-through gears and gears without escrape that are difficult to process using raditional gear cutting method.However,the technology for gear cutting is not yet mature and domestic scholars engaged in this area are few.According to the cutting mechanism,it has been named gear skiving.Therefore,this paper will make a theoretical researh on the gear processing technology and preliminarily analyses the design of gear skiving cutter.In this paper,research achievements on gear skiving technology were summarized at home and abroad,The inadequacy of the technology was analyzed.Based on the principle of gear engagement,the relative position of the workpiece spindle and tool spindle was discussed.Through the analysis of material removal mechanism,it studied two cutting effects of the gear skiving in a circle.Then,based on the practical operation,the motion model was established and the relationships among movements were deduced.At last,the similarities and differences between gear skiving method and traditional processing method were discussed,the structural model of the gear skiving tool was analyzed simply.Based on the principle of gear skiving processing,the concept of shaped cutter wheel was proposed.By means of gears engagement coordinate system,the mathematical model of gear skiving was established.The meshing equation of shaped cutter wheel was deduced.Then,meshing line of the gear skiving movement was calculated.At last,we got the equations of blade cutter and the equations of workpiece tooth surface.The structure forms of the gear skiving cutter were classified on the basis of the gear skiving theory and cutterl analytical theory.A method for designing spur skiving cutter was got.Based on the mathematical model of gear skiving cutter,the rake face,flank face,front angle and relief angle were defined and designed.At last,Gear processing example was engaged with the spur skiving cutter designed Preliminarily and it proved the feasibility of gear skiving method and advantages over conventional gear processing methods.This paper about theoretical study on gear skiving cutter has important guiding significance for further theoretical research and actual processing applications.Analyse and design methods on gear skiving cutters have provided a reference for subsequent studies.
