Nanosized MCM-41 molecular sieve was prepared by a hydrothermal method and silver iodide possessing semiconductor material properties was incorporated into the host by thermal diffusion method. (Nanosized MCM-41 )-AgI composite materials were obtained and at the same time (micro MCM-41 )-AgI composite materials were also prepared for comparison. SBA-15 molecular sieve was prepared under a strong acidity condition by using triblock copolymer poly (ethylene glycol) -block-poly (propylene glycol) -block-poly (ethylene glycol) as the template and (SBA-15) - (DBC-arsenazo, DBC-ASA) host-guest composite materials were prepared by liquid-phase grafting method using DBC-ASA solution and the calcined host material SBA-15 molecular sieve in water medium. By means of powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, solid state diffuse reflectance absorption spectroscopy and luminescence studies, the successful incorporation of guest into the host was characterized. The (MCM-41 )-AgI composite materials have the potential applied value in many fields such as optoconductivity materials, semiconductor materials, ion conductor materials, fast ion conductor materials and information storage fields. The (SBA-15) - (DBC-ASA) composite materials have the potential applied value in laser material field.
