It gains much attention of the scientists from different countries in the world. Rare earth elements have unique properties and extensive applications owing to their special electronic configurations. In order to further understand the movement of 4f electrons and to make rare earth materials have new and better use value, researching on synthesis, electronic configurations, functional properties and applications of rare earth compounds nanoparticles is an urgent as well as very important studied subject. Because of its many particular properties in optics, acoustics, electricity, magnetism, heat, catalysis, mechanics, chemical activity etc, and its great potential high technology applied prospects, nanoparticles has become one of the quite popular subjects in materials research field.Microemulsion is being paid more and more attention, owing of its advantages, such as it is convenient to control the size of particles, simple manipulation and mild experimental conditions. Microemulsion basic mechanism, nature and the factors of composion of microemulsion system which influence the size of particles were described in this dissertation. Nano-sized CeF3 particles with narrow particle size distribution have been prepared by microemulsion system in CTAB/n-butyl alcohol/ Heptane/water. The morphology and the size of product were characterized by TEM , XRD , ED techniques. The prepared sample was studied systematically and deeply by TGA-DTA and FTIR.Solid-state reaction at room temperature is being paid more and more attention by all material scientists, owing of its advantages, such as excellent productivity, simple manipulation and technology, saving energy sources. In the dissertation, the differences between solid state reaction mechanism and solution state reaction mechanism were discussed and...
