In this dissertation, we mainly introduce a developmental process of a real time soft opening CNC system of economical CNC lathe based on a printed circuit board numerical control drilling and milling machine tool-researched and designed by our institute. The design takes advantage of Pentium PC as master and Atmel 89c52 as slave.,between them is parallel port. It works under Windows NT/2000/xp operation system.Since Windows OS has taken the rule position for now, it has the most supports from software developers,venders and customs. It can make use of the most extent soft and hardware resource, easy generating human and machine interface and decreasing the period of productions .the most important is via real time kernel development we can realize soft open CNC system, by using Windows as the platform of CNC software develop.Modern computer technique has moved forward rapidly and we should take advantage of it. Adopting this system can make the NC system has more expansibility , open and flexibility, at the same time make prepare for the next research of soft open CNC.The dissertation emphasize in Windows 2000/xp system structure,NT driver program development ,realtime control,and fulfilling communication via parallel port between master-slave machine.
