In chapter one, the domestic and foreign development of the methods and problems existed in controlling postharvest decay of apricot, grape and melon were summed up. The development, production, determination and application methods of chlorine dioxide were reviewed. As a new high effective fungicide, chlorine dioxide has been used in many fields because of its oxidation ability, which can be used as new fruit preservatives. Prospect will be bright if new chlorine dioxide generators can be applied to preservative grape, apricot and melon and to prolong the shelf life of fruit. SO2 will still take an important role in fruit preservation for a long time. Then, the contents of the following researches were proposed based on the review. In chapter two, to prolong the release period of original ClO2 generators, the long-term solid ClO2 generator was prepared by choosing acidic reagent, adding additives, controlling temperature, humidity and choosing different membrane. Therefore, improved chlorine dioxide generators can produce chlorine dioxide properly in ambient and low temperature, and provide the needed concentration of chlorine dioxide for maintaining fruit fresh in transportation and storage. In chapter three, the safety capability of three kinds of ClO2 generator was researched. Effects of different additives to ClO2 generator were observed by examining the ignition point, combustion heat and the release curve of ClO2. Results show that by adding additives, safety parameters of ClO2 generator were improved. But if dose of additives were excessive, ClO2 couldn't be released. In chapter four,'Xiaobai'apricots were treated with chlorine dioxide rates of 0, 10, 100, 150, 1000nl l-1 at 25℃for 10h. Fruit harvested at two developmental stages were used. The onset of ethylene production was delayed and respiration rate...
