The sewage treatment in the petrochemical industry, city planning and other relevant fields is closely related to the industrial benefits and the environmental protection, in which the water-sludge interface monitoring is a key problem. LAN Zhou Petrochemical Corporation signed a contract with the Automation School of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2005 and devoted them to the integral development of the wireless water-sludge interface monitoring system and its application in the complex conditions. This subject aims to remove a difficulty in the automatic monitoring technology: to test accurately the water-sludge interface in the initial deposit pool for the petrochemical sewage treatment, transmit the signal wirelessly to the control room and transform the signal into the control signal that the distributing system needs to realize the automatic control.After we made the on-site research and analyzed the sensor market, we chose the wireless transmission approach and the ultrasonic water-sludge interface-monitoring device, developed them systematically and integrally and applied them to the complex on-site conditions. The system consists of the ultrasonic water-sludge interface-monitoring device, the wireless data transmitting module and the signal treatment module. It successfully resolves the problem of the water-sludge interface monitoring in the complex conditions of LAN Zhou Petrochemical Corporation.
