The spar in sinter bearing fluorine is considered as one of the major factors effecting intensity of Baotou steel's sinter. Self-fluxed sinter is always notarized with low intensity. But the Baotou steel's practice indicates that the third generation sinter (R=1.36), close to self-fluxed sinter, keeps the intensity of the second generation high basicty sinter. This article studies the relationship between the intensity of sinter and the distribution of binding phase in sinter. The distribution is effected by the fluidity of molten binding phase. The fluidity can be quantitatively expounded by viscosity and surface tension.Based on the composition of binding phase in Baotou steel's sinter, the binding phase is made up with analytic chemical reagent, CaO, SiO2, MgO, CaF2 and FeO. By measuring the viscosity, surface tension and wetting angle, the relationships between the basic characteristics and chemical composition of binding phase are obtained.By considering the facts effecting the intensity of sinter comprehensively, some results are obtained:(1) At the basicity of 1.4(CaO/SiO2), the viscosity is smaller and the melting temperature is lower, surface tension increases with increase of basicity. When the basicity surpasses 1.4, the molten binding phase will become pulverous while cooling for the phase transformation of...
