Anthraquinone acid dye is one of the important kinds of acid dyes. C.I. Acid Blue 140 is one of the typical anthraquinone acid dyes used to dyeing wool, silk, synthetic textiles etc.Based on the retrieval and review of the bibliographer, the original process for the preparation of C.I. Acid Blue 140 in Zhejiang Rosi Chemical Co., Ltd was evaluated. The novel process for preparation of C.I. Acid Blue 140 starting from 1,4-dihydroxy-anthraquinone by arylamination, bromination and sulfonation was studied. The influence of temperature, solvent, catalyst and molar ratio of reactants on the yield of arylamination was studied. The optimum reaction conditions were evaluated and selected as follows: solvent 2-methyl-4-butylaniline, the molar ratio of 2-methyl-4-butylaniline and 1,4-dihydroxy-anthraquinone 7:1, 1,4-dihydroxy-anthra quinone 10%, the catalyst boric acid, temperature 100℃. The 2-methyl-4-butylaniline can be reused 3 times. The yield of arylamination was increased from 70% to 95%.The brominating agent, recycle of solvent and crystallization were investigated in the dissertation. The results of the experiments showed that chloroform was the proper solvent, bromine was the appropriate brominating agent, and temperature was 40-45℃. The production period...
