4-butylaniline is an important intermediate for organic synthesis.It can be used in the synthesis of dyes, pesticides, Pharmaceuticals and liquid crystal display materials. The 4-butylaniline synthesis methods used by domestic enterprises now has serious corrosion to the equipment and pollution to the environment Therefore the development of new ways to synthesis 4-butylaniline have broad prospects.Methods were explored as follows:1. Aniline used as raw materials, n-butanol used as reagents of alkylation, zinc chloride used as catalyst respectively. The process conditions of the reaction was optimized by the single factor test and orthogonal test respectively. The best process conditions: n-butanol:Aniline=1.5; zinc chloride:1.5mol; reaction temperature: 270℃; yield:48.32%.2. Gas phase alkylation: Aniline used as raw materials, n-butanol used as reagents of alkylation, mixed gas injection. V2O5 -Al2O3 and CuO-ZnO-NiO used as catalyst for the first time. The effects of temperature on yield and conversion rate were studied. And the activity of two solid catalysts V2O5 -Al2O3 and CuO-ZnO-NiO was also studied.3.Ionic liquid used as catalyst for the first time , Ionic liquid of bromide-1-butyl-3-Methylimidazole was produced and 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate Ionic liquid was produced at room temperature.The synthesis of butyl aniline process conditions were briefly studied for using aniline as raw materials, n-butanol as reagents of alkylation and the two ionic liquid as catalyst.4.I2 used as catalyst respectively for the first time.The process conditions of the reaction was optimized by the single factor test and orthogonal test respectively.The best process conditios: reaction temperature: 280℃; time:8h;I2:the mass of Aniline's 15‰; yield:51.01%. As the result: when I2 used as catalyst respectively, the yield of 4-butylaniline is the best one.Furthermore, through the analysis of the experimental results the catalytic mechanism of every catalyst was speculated.
