The kinetics of free radical emulsion copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA), acrylonitrile (AN) and divinylbenzene (DVB) was researched, and the cross-linking polymer micro-beads of polystyrene (PS), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), poly(methyl methacrylate-co-styrene) (PSM) and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) were synthesized by emulsion copolymerization. Blends of ABS with various rigid fillers, including the cross-linking polymer micro-beads, silicon dioxide (SiO2) and Magnesium Hydroxide Oxysulfate whisker (MHOS), were prepared and studied for thermal, rheological and mechanical properties.Studies on the kinetics of emulsion copolymerization of MMA, AN and DVB showed that the rate of copolymerization was proportional to 0.669 power of potassium persulphate concentration, and decreased with the increasing mass ratio of monomer AN. The tensile stress order of strengthening ABS with the cross-linking micro-beads was σPS<σPMMA<...
