Preparation Of Yueju Heterotype Drop Pellets

Original dosage forms of Yueju heterotype drop pellets are Yueju pills, which are very famous prescription from an ancient book named Danxi's Experiential Therapy.Yueju pills can activate vital energy, alleviate mental depression and relieve dyspepsia, and are used to treat gastric neurosis. Although Yueju pills are good traditional prescription, because of raw materials directly used as medicine, large dose, obsolete dosage form, limited dissolution rate and low bioavalability, they can't satisfy clinical needs. At the premise of modernization of Chinese traditional medicine formulation, we applied the technique of solid dispersion and prepared heterotype drop pellets using the self-made drop pellet machine and the mould. In the process of preparation, solid dispersions of drugs and excipients in different ratios were put into the mould to form drop pellets, which characterized that no much condensate was needed and the shape of products was cylinder. Compared with the conventional drop pellets technique, the mould-shaped drop pellets had the different cooling fashion and shape. According to the examing and approving methods of new drugs of State Drug Administration and the relevant naming principle of new Chinese traditional medicine, the self-made drop pellets were named as Yueju heterotype drop pellets.The formulation included cyperus tuber (treated with vinegar), atractylodes lancea or atractylodes Chinensis (fried), chuanxiong rhizome, medicated leaven (fried) and capejasmine fruit. The method of TLC was used to study cyperus tuber, chuanxiong rhizome, atractylodes lancea and capejasmine fruit qualitatively, and HPLC was applied to investigate contents of gardenoside and Ferulic acid quantitively.
