Ledum plasture L. is a kind of source plant that spreads abundantly in northeast of China especially in Daxing’anling region and Changbai Mountain region.Volatile oil of Duxiang is extracted out of the stems and leaves of Ledum plasture L. The study found that it has a significant effect of relieving cough and expelling phlegm and antiasthma. In this study, so we did areaserch about a new and efficient development of immediate-release formulations of volatile oil of Duxiang.The formulations improved the absorption rate of drug, allowing a better play to clinical efficacy.The experiments studied optimum inclusion process condition for the volatile oil of Duxiang. The utilization ratio of the volatile oil from Duxiang was as criteria. And four factors were selected,including the ratio of the volatile oil to (3-CD the time of preparation, the temperature and the ratio ofβ-CD to water. The inclusion compound was identified by the ways of Micro-imaging, The optimum conditions were investigated by the orthogonal test form L9 (34).The optimum preparation condition for inclusion were established as follows:Volatile oils:P-Cyclodextrin was 1:8,inclusion temperature and time were at 50℃and 30 min, P-Cyclodextrin:water was 1:10.Volatile oil of Duxiang P-cyclodextrin inclusion was verified by microscope imaging method, TLC, UV spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy (IR).The results showed that:Volatile oil of Duxiangβ-cyclodextrin inclusion has formed a new kind of physical image, not a simple physical mixture.Adopted GC to detect p-cymene content in volatile oil of Duxiangβ-cyclodextrin inclusion and carried mythology review at the same time. The results showed:the average recovery rate was 101.43%, RSD 1.78%.The methods were accurate and reliable.According to the high-light test, high temperature test and high humidity test, the results showed that the inclusion complex is superior to the stability of the mixture.Disintegration was as criteria.Accessories were sieved by orthogonal test.Tablents were prepared by direct compression technology. The best accessories construction was established as follows:The ratio of powder and accessories was the 3:2.L-HPC dosage was 3%. CMS-Na dosage was 5%. The ratio of MCC and lactose was 2:1.All items were tested and up to standard according to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2005).We used GC to determine the content of p-cymene, the separation is effective to other component, and The results showed:the average recovery rate was 100.29%, RSD 0.92%. The results of experiment show that the method is accurate and reliable.Pharmacodynamic experiments show that::Dispersible tablets have antitussive and expectorant function.
