N-alkylbenzisothiazolone is a new, high-effect and innocuous penetration enhancer. According to the its molecular configuration, it has a polar head and a unpolar long hydrocarbon which are the necessary functional group. Therefore, its penetration enhancing behavior to the hydrophilic and lipophilic compound when they are confected is well. Meanwhile, the physical-chemical appearance of thiazone is very steady. It's the chemical developing tide that the thiazone is used as penetration enhancer. The thiazone has wide application in agricultural industry, pharmaceutic industry, cosmetic industry, printing industry. In this paper, N- propylbenzisothiazolone and N- butylbenzisothiazolone were the object products which were synthesized through two-step of bromination and N-alkylation. 1-propanol, n-butanol, saccharin sodium, hydrobromic acid and so on were used as starting materials. The reaction mechanisms were discussed. Trough the analytical means of single factor and several factors, the synthetical conditions were optimized. Under the optimal reaction conditions, the respective total yield of N- propylbenzisothiazolone and N-butylbenzisothiazolone were 84. 6% and 89. 1%. Finally, the structures of the products were proved by element analysis, IR, GC-MS, ~1H-NMR and so on.
