Coal is the fundamental energy of our nation. It plays an important role in our national economy. But now the situation of coal mine is rather critical. Many catastrophes have been not controlled. Considering the present status and the existing main problem of the monitoring system of mine ventilation safety, we design the automatic monitoring and alarming system of mine ventilation safety which integrates modern signal gathering technology, signal transmitting technology, computer information processing technology and computer network technology.This system is composed of three networks. The first network contains the intelligent sensors and the communication substations. The communication substation is the host computer which sends different addresses to control the different intelligent sensors to execute measurement in turn. And , the communication substation reads and accesses the result of measurement. The second network contains the communication substations and the supervisory control computer. The supervisory control computer is the host computer which sends different addresses to select the different substations. It also analyzes and deals with the data of measurement from the communication substations to judge whether or not alarming. After analyzing and dealing with the data, the data come into statistics, curves or computer files. And the data will be transmitted into LAN. The use of the communication substations enhances the system capability and reduces the watch time. The third network is the local area network. As a Web server the supervisory control computer can share the data of measurement by Internet. The core part of this system is the intelligent air pressure sensor which can measure the pressure and temperature. We can use the pressure, temperature and the wind speed to calculate the air pressure. This system optimizes the traditional monitoring system of mine ventilation safety.
