With the rapid development of the world economy, the discharge of living wastewater and industry wastewater includeing the organic wastewater which has high concentration of ammonium and sulfate all over the world is increasing day by day. The traditional methods to remove sulfate and ammonium separately in wastewater have many shortages, such as high operation cost, smaller scale, hard controlling and second pollution.Depending on the characteristics of sulfate and ammonium, this research forecasted and validated a reaction in which sulfate and ammonium could reacted together. Also this study focuses on the characteristic of the functional bacteria. In order to validated the reaction, this research design a anaerobic shaking bed to study the nutrition type of the functional bacteria and a Anaerobic suspended growth reactor to testify the result of the reaction. Then functional strain is isolated from the reactor which has the best result. This research established certain theoretical base for wastewater treatment which contained sulfate and ammonium. The main results of the experiment are shown as follows: Adding inorganic carbon source and organic carbon source to Anaerobic shaking bed to make sure nutrition type of the functional bacteria is heterotroph. and the 6# has the optimal result of the expectant reaction. In Anaerobic suspended growth reactor, the removal rates of sulfate and ammonium were 97.8% and 57.96%. We found sulfur and nitrogen in the reactor and the quantity of these two chemicals increased when time passed by. This phenomenon validated that the reaction we forecasted was true. There are 31 strains isolated from the reactor. Based on the remove rate of sulfate and ammonium and while the sulfur is produced or not, one strain is selectd named Z29. After 3d cultivated, Z29's remove rate of sulfate can reach 69%,58%. The biology characteristics of strain shows that the addition of yeast extract could make benefit to the growth of Z29. The colony was round, dotlike and pale yellow. The cell was of short bar shape,no spore, gramnegative T39 was facultative anaerobic, low salt tolerance. For growth, the optimal initiative pH...
