Study On The High-Efficiency And High-Speed Ultraviolet Sterilizers System

Ballast water can insure the ocean liners voyage safety and high transport efficiency. However, it also brings exotic harmful organisms and cause invasive spread problem. Photocatalytic oxidation technique (POT) has many advantages, such as low electricity consumption, easy to operate, low secondary pollution. POT can perfectly satisfy the Eight Standards of IMO. In this paper, POT is used for ballast water treatment.Ultraviolet's microbe-killing effect is the better. Its microbe-killing efficiency depends on intensity of UV. Because of O₃ has been added, UV/O₃ system can satisfy the standards of ballast water treatment. Microbe-killing rate is beyond 90 percent within 7 seconds.Using Corse porus silica gel as carrier, catalysts as Titania/silicon dioxide, porous glass, lateral-cut glass fibre and diagonal glass fibre are prepared with hydrolysis-sol method. Because of the cooperation effect with catalysts as Titania, the microbe-killing effect is better than others. Microbe-killing rates are 99 percent, 96.2 percent, 99.98 percent and 99.96 percent within 7 seconds.Using anodic oxidation method with constant current first and constant voltage second, catalyst of Titania/Titanium has been produced. Crystal lattices of TiO₂ changed with different voltages. Content of rutile increases with high voltage. Catalyst of Titania/Titanium under the condition of 3A/140V has perfect micro-be killing effect. Catalyst constitute with anatase in 76 percent and rutile in 24 percent. Its micro-be killing rate is 99.98 percent within 7 seconds.Catalyst of Titania/Titanium made by micro-arc oxidation has the best condition: Na₃PO₄ solution (10g/l) as the electrolyte, current density as 50mA/cm², time of electroanalysis as 5min. Its micro-be killing rate is 99.9 percent within 7 seconds.Catalyst constitute with anatase without rutile. Its structure same as the catalyst made by anodic oxidation under the condition of 3A/120V.Catalyst made by anodic oxidation under the condition of 3A/140V is experimented to change its character with silver deposition.
