MgAlON has the trait of oxide and non-oxide; Aluminum titanate has high melting point, low thermal expansion and good resistance of corrasive properties. Considered synthetically the properties of MgAlON and Aluminum titanate, their composite additive will have a good ameliorating on refractory. In this paper, the current research status of refractory and the compose, structure, properties , composing method of MgAlON and Aluminum titanate is overviewed particularly. Furthermore, the steady Aluminum titanate is made in lab; The composite sample of MgAlON and Aluminum titanate is studied ; The effect of the composite additive on corundum and magnesia-alumina spinel product is discussed. Through the analysis we can get the conclusions as follows:(1) Magnesia can improve the steady property of Aluminum titanate, under the experiment condition, we have made the Alumium titanate that has good steady property. The synthetical property of the composite sample is best when the mass ratio of MgAlON and Aluminum titanate is 8:1.(2) The composite additive of MgAlON and Aluminum titanate can enhance the cold crushing strength and improve the thermal shock resistance of the corundum product markedly.(3) Effect of composite additive on magnesia-alumina spinel product is not obvious; The best adding mass of composite additive is 20wt% when calculating the physics property of the product synthetically.(4) The melting and soaking by LF slag is very severe on corundum product; MgAlON and Aluminum titanate can markedly improve the slag resistance of the product.(5) Because MgAlON can react with oxygen easily, the melting degree atthe area where the slag and the sample touched is severe; We can...
