Friction welding is a superior, high efficient and energy saving solid-state joint technology. It is widely used in the fields of aviation, aerospace, petroleum, auto and other fields. In friction welding, rotational speed of principal axis, friction pressure, jointing time and jointing deflection are important technology parameters influencing the quality of joint. It is the guarantee means to acquire fine joint so long as to realized precise detecting and controlling of these parameters.Double CPU mode is used in the control system of C25 friction welding machine. The parts fulfilling welding process are controlled by PLC. The acquisition and management of data under friction welding is carried out by industrial computer. The whole welding process is monitored by industrial computer. Electro- hydraulic proportional valves instead of switch value is used in Hydraulic system. The use of electro-hydraulic proportional valves reduces the probability of failure. It is probable to build a computerized closed-loop control system with electro-hydraulic proportional valves. According to technical requirement of the system, multifunctional data acquisition and control card is chosen. Hydraulic pressure signal, rotation speed signal and displacement signal are transformed into analog signals (voltage signals) by relative sensors. Then voltage signals are transmitted to the card after necessary adjusting and the card accomplish the transition of A/D. Data acquisition is accomplished by data acquisition system and the curves under friction welding process is drawn by the system.Data acquisition system of friction welding machine is developed by VB language. The idea of modularization is introduced into the development of software system. The system is divided into data acquisition module, data storage module, print module and so on.
