Speed-shifting mechanism is one of the key components of sheet feeder on sheet-fed printer or die-cutter, whose working performance influences the stability of paper delivery. In this paper, three speed-shifting mechanisms that used widely were analyzed, the working performance of which were compared, and the parameter of the three speed-shifting mechanism were designed with the optimum method.The main works are as following:(1) For the three speed-shifting mechanisms: oval gear speed-shifting mechanism, rotary guide bar speed-shifting mechanism and geared linkage speed-shifting mechanism, the performance of motion was analyzed, the motion parameter was computed with Matlab, and the influence of coefficient of association to characteristic curve was discussed.(2) According to mechanical optimization theory and the design requirement, the optimization models of three speed-shifting mechanisms were made with suitable object function, the optimization models were computed in Matlab and the results were analyzed.(3) According to the result of optimization, the performance of motion of three speed-shifting mechanisms was compared, which indicated that the geared linkage mechanism was best. The three-dimensional models of the three mechanisms were made in Pro/E, and the simulations were made in Pro/E and ADAMS, which proved the theoretical results and indicated that geared linkage mechanism was most suitable in practice.(4) The performance of different proportion of three gears of geared linkage mechanism was compared, and the final gears'ratio was 1:1:1. According to the known data of the manufacture, the specific parameters were designed with the optimum model with multiple objects. The 3-D model of geared linkage mechanism that designed was established, and simulated in ADAMS.According to production reality, this paper used the optimum method to design the mechanism based on performance comparison, it has practical value for speed-shifting mechanism's application in enterprise.
