Crushing material plays a great role in mining and material transportation.Double-geared roller crusher is widely used in these fields, and its design research hasimportant practical significance. At present the study of the double toothed rollcrusher generally focuses on some basic statics analysis. Its design is usually based onsome empirical parameters. But with the development of science, technology and theenhancing of design optimization requirements, the studies above is not enough tomeet the demand of our design. However, traditional optimize design of the product isbased on the construction of the experimental prototype to analyze the experimentaldata. Its efficiency is very low and the cost is very high. So at this stage optimizedesign is in great need of the virtual prototype, which can simulate the crushing of thematerial. We can get simulation data from it to do optimal design of product. This is ahighly efficient design method and this direction urgently needed to be explored.This paper’s research object is the double toothed roll crusher. This study is tobuild virtual prototypes to do crushing performance analysis and then to optimize thegear roller’s design. The paper’s main research contents and achievement are asfollows:1) Research the basic structure of double-geared roller crusher and crushingprinciple. Analyze the crushing process of the materials to understand how it doescrush materials. Put forward the basic parameters and design parameters of the model.2) Introduce Discrete Element Method. It’s the theoretical basis of the crushingmaterial simulation. Establish discrete element model through professional discreteelement software. Apply top-down modeling ideas to build the CAD parameterizedmodel of double-geared roller crusher.3) Use computer to do the simulation analysis. Choose the appropriate time stepand grid. Then get the data information what is analyzed through post-processingsystem.4) Apply optimization design method to turn the problem of the roll teeth’soptimal design into specific mathematical model. Set up RBF agent model and useGenetic algorithm to solve the optimal worth. Compare it with the simulation datathen solve the worth again.The idea of crushing performance analysis of Double-geared roller and optimizationof its tooth profile based on Discrete Element Method is advanced. It can not onlygreatly improve the efficiency of the design and research but also greatly reduce the research cost.
