Recently, various novel and high performance second-order nonlinear optical (NLO) organic polymer materials, owing to their wide application in electro-optical (E-O) modulated devices and advantages superior to inorganic materials, have been prepared and investigated by numerous scientists.(1)In this dissertation, We synthesized chromophore 2-cyano-3-(4-((4-((hydroxymethyl)(methyl)amino)phenyl)diazenyl)phenyl)acrylic acid (DRC),then we synthesized a nonlinear optical organic materials using Poly(weacryloyl chloride) as the polymer host with the chromophore .the glass temperature of this polymer was investigated by DSC, we prepared a polymeric film by spin coating. The polymeric film was poled by needle-electrode corona-onset poling at elevated temperature. and studied the orientation of chromophore in polymeric film by Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy(SERS)(2)We synthesized chromophore 3-(4-(4-nitrostyryl)phenyl)pentyl methacrylate (DR1M) ,then copolymer were obtained using the monomers DR1M, methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate by radical polymerization, the glass temperature of this polymer was investigated by DSC, we prepared a polymeric film by spin coating .the copolymeric film was poled by needle-electrode corona-onset poling at elevated temperature. studied the orientation angles of chromophore in polymeric film by polarized UV-vis absorption spectra and polarized infrared cpectra(3)We synthesized chromophore 3-(4-((4-((carboxymethyl)(methyl)amino)phenyl) diazenyl)phenyl)-2-cyanoacrylic acid (DRCB), then we synthesised 4-heptadecylpyridine and 4-(hexadecyloxy)pyridine .we have obtained two intermolecular hydrogen bonded liquid crystals using them as the proton donor and the proton accepter. The IR spectra of the complexes show the existence of the intermolecular hydrogen bond. we studied their liquid crystal transitions by DSC and optical polarized microscope and find them have a low phase transition point (almost room temperature) and special phase.
