Water Quality Determination And Pollution Prevention Of Urban Man-made Lake In The River

Man-made lake in the river has many functions such as perfecting the city, local weather modification and entertainment and so on. A case of ecological engineering of Wei-He River in the city of Baoji called Jinwei Lake was taken as an example, to investigate factors affecting the water quality in the lake. Pollution prevention methods were put forward. The results are as follows:(1) The concentration of pH, COD_Mn, NH₃-N, TKN and TP in Jinwei Lake are varied from 6.73 to 8.34, 2.36 mg/L to 28.42 mg/L, 0.15 mg/L to 15.7 mg/L, 1.76 mg/L to 27.48 mg/L and 0 mg/L to 0.41 mg/L, which showed that the variation extent is wide and the water quality is not so good.(2) The length of sluice time, inflow of clean water, discharging of pollutants and human activity can affect the water quality. On some degree, the index of water quality increased with the days, the quantum of pollutants discharged into the lake by human and the drainers and decreased with the quantum of clean water injected to the lake.(3) Management and prevention suggestions are put off aimed to the Jinwei Lake such as domination of CSO and road runoff, determination of water quality and lake sludge, lake water treatment and education and supervision of the citizens by government.
