| According to Benniu's years experience on heavy and over-heavy conveyors production, the author of this article pressings that big deformation of chain link will occur when conveyor running under heavy load and therefore outside profile of chain link will be more close to oval shape. The author suggests that tooth profile of sprocket should be designed according to the chain link shape after deformation in order to increase sprocket and chain service life.Because the existing design and manufacture of driving sprocket doesn't consider the deformation of chain, the touch area between sprocket and chain link is maximum under light load but less touching area under more load. Thus the meshing condition between sprocket and chain link deteriorate, service life of sprocket and chain shorten and they fail to satisfy modern coalmines'requirement.Applying strong CAD/CAE function of Unigraphics software, parameter design for tooth profile of sprocket is realized; sprocket and chain link and their meshing are analyzed by limited element method in this article. The strain of chain link under heavy load has been calculated and tooth profile design of sprocket has been optimized to increase the touching area between sprocket and chain link under heavy load, therefore to enhance sprocket's service life of Amoured Face Conveyors. The results can be applied to Northwest Benniu Company's sprocket manufacture for heavy and over-heavy Armoured Face Conveyors. |
