In the shipbuilding process, welded structures are employed in building's every working procedure largely, from accessories' welding to subsections' assemblage, even total segments' combination. Being important parts of welded structures, weld splice's internal welding residual stress has biggish influence to the function of weld splice, and it could weaken ship structure's strength and toughness. In addition, weld residual stress could bring on welded parts' corrosive split. Accordingly, weld residual stress influences shipbuilding's quality finally. Therefore, how to master weld residual stress' rule and avoid weld residual stress' existence is very important. On this background, the paper researches welding residual stress and how to relieve bad welding residual stress. After studying former research, the paper studies nether contents using theories analysis method and FEM method:1. Studying the relational problems of numerical simulation of welding process, such as the choice of welding heat models, meshing girding etc.2. Establishing three dimensions finite element model of welding process, analyzing welding temperature field and welding stress temperature, obtaining welding residual stress's distributing rule.3. Discussing the methods of relieving welding residual stress in shipbuilding process, establishing three dimensions finite element model of low temperature relieving (LTSR), accomplishing numerical simulation of LTSR.4. About numerical simulation of complicated welding structure, comparing welding temperature field results using two different welding heat models.
