Thin-film evaporators are the kinds of new style evaporation equipment, which have been applied broadly in the field of light industry, chemical industry, paper-making and food-processing industry. Using dimple jacket in thin-film evaporator, load-capacity can increased and the thick of the shell can be reduced and the heat-exchange effect will be strengthened. It is important to analyze its strength for the structure of dimple jacket and optimize the structure. In this thesis, major research work and conclusions are summarized as follows:1) Finite element method was used to analyze dimple jacket's strength and design its structure. Based on the analysis of it's structure, 1/4 three-dimensional finite element analysis model for dimple jacket was built up.2) In terms of finite element , studied 1/4 three-dimensional finite element model was studied, the max deform and the max stress, etc. were gained, and stress' distribution in thin-film evaporator with dimple jacket was showed roundly.3) A set of 2m~2 thin-film evaporator with dimple jacket was designed and constructed. The data of stress acquired by experiment and the data acquired by finite element analysis were compared. The results indicate that they have same trend.4) Inner container deformation both in radial direction and in axis direction was obtained by calculation. Comparison between inner container deformation in normal jacket, square distribution dimple jacket and triangle distribution dimple jacket, indicates that dimple jacket can control inner container's deformation better than normal jacket. While analysis' result also indicates that the triangle distribution dimple jacket can control inner container's deformation better than square distribution dimple jacket. So the triangle distribution dimple jacket is feasible in structure.5) Based on the experiment and analysis, the permitted pressure was obtained.
