F-containing textile finishing agents are a kind of important posterio-finishing accessory ingredients. Textiles finished by them hold their original colour, feel, air permeability and dressing comfort, and also show oil repellence, stain repellence and decontramination, which are not held by hydrocarbon and silicone hydrophobe agents. So F-containing textile finishing agents have been widely extended soon and became main aspects of water and oil repellent agents at present. However the domestic demands of these products completely depend on import, therefore it is of great instancy and practical meaning to develop and produce F-containing textile finishing agents by our country. This dissertation refer to F-containing textile finishing agents that have been prepared from polyfluoroalcohol It offers experimental foundations for home making this type of products.Firstly, polyfluoroalcohol was used as raw material to prepare perfluoroalkylethyl acrylate through direct esterification, inspecting some impact factors such as mole ratio of acrylic acid to perfluoroalkylethanol, time and so on. Then ideal polymeric emulsions were obtained by emulsion polymerization and optimal finishing conditions were established. Textiles finished by these emulsions showed superior angles to both water and normal alkane, and also held excellent water and oil repellence-water repellence 11~12 grade, oil repellence 6~7 grade, surface wetting 4~5 grade. The functions of these products have obtained the same standard as those of foreign commercial products. In addition ,the stability of F-containing acrylate latexes was affected by many conditions. The steady latexes were gotten at the best reaction conditions. And the average particle size was75nm. The average particle size distribution was 0.22. The averageζelectric potential was -45mv. The theoretic highest potential energy of the stable emulsion is 15.4×10–20 J. It was proved that the system was steady through DLVO theory. Finally, the core-shell latex particles , consisting of a ploy-butylacrylate core, covered with a perfluoroalkyl acrylate shell , were prepared in order to reduce the content of F-containing monomer. The core-shell particles were preparedby a two-stage emulsion polymerization under and were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The surface properties of the latex films produced from the core-shell particles were investigated by the contact angle method. Compared with random copolymers or latex blends of butylacrylate and perfluoroalkyl acrylate, the core-shell particles were the most effective to reduce the surface energy of the latex films.
